Our sustainable impact
Technology with social impact
At Rematics, sustainability is in our DNA. It is not just about technology, but about impact. By combining domain knowledge with computer vision and data analysis, we help waste collectors, recycling companies and local authorities handle raw materials smarter, optimise processes and accelerate the transition to a circular economy. As a company, we also choose the long term: lasting relationships with our customers and suppliers, and a warm workplace for our employees. Sustainability is anchored in everything we do.

Waste as a resource
A large share of the waste that ends up in the incinerator today still contains valuable raw materials that could be recycled. With our technology, we help organisations understand waste streams better and improve sorting behaviour. By offering objective insights into contamination and sorting quality, we show where recycling potential is lost and where targeted action can make the biggest difference.
Our approach is not based on control or penalties, but on insight, guidance and continuous improvement. By identifying contamination at the source, we help organisations sort better structurally, recover more raw materials and keep waste processing affordable. Because better sorting means less waste, more recycling and more efficient use of scarce raw materials.
From insight to less CO₂
More than 70 vehicles drive with D4T every day. In commercial residual waste, we measure an average of 40 to 50% recyclable material, around 63,000 tonnes per year heading for incineration.
That makes targeted action possible. A collector who knows who puts film in the paper week after week has a different conversation than one who asks everyone to sort better. Across the entire equipped fleet, around 4,7255 tonnes of waste per year shift from the incinerator to recycling.
Add to that the trips that are no longer driven. If D4T recognises a load as non-compliant, the truck does not leave for a processor that would reject it anyway. Together, that is around 176,000 fewer kilometres of heavy transport per year.
All in all: around 5,900 tonnes less CO₂ per year, or 90 tonnes per equipped vehicle.

The circular economy does not start at the recycling centre, but with understanding what we throw away. Insight is the first step towards sustainable change.

More than just recycling
For us, sustainability goes beyond the environment. Social impact also plays an important role. We are building a company where talent can grow, regardless of background or experience. An environment where technology, innovation and entrepreneurship come together and where people get the space to help build solutions with social relevance.
As a Belgian deeptech company, we want not only to develop innovative technology, but also to create a meaningful workplace where people are proud of what they achieve.
Our ambition
Local roots
Working with customers and partners in the field.
Belgian innovation
Developing technology with an impact on people and the environment.
International vision
Building solutions that scale across borders.
Collaboration in practice

Building the future together
Innovation does not happen in isolation. That is why we actively work with waste collectors, knowledge institutions, technology partners and local governments. By pooling expertise, we develop solutions that already create concrete value today and are ready for the challenges of tomorrow.
Local impact is our foundation. Collaboration is our lever for sustainable growth. Because you do not build a sustainable future alone. You build it together.
